Read the Bible in a Year
This evening read Second Corinthians 11:1--15

Beware of Craftiness

Crafty speech is a snake in the grass. Watch out for it. Paul said,

3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Cor. 11:3).

The craftiness of which Paul spoke was an attempt to complicate the simple, but in our rush to avoid that extreme, let us avoid oversimplifying the simple. Just keep things as Christ delivered them.

Moreover, to avoid crafty people do not become overly suspicious. I have noticed that drinking from the waters of Scripture gives one the proper balance in life. Drink from Scripture, from all of it and you shall be what our Lord Jesus Christ wants you to be. To me, putting Scripture into my life is like putting compost into soil. Regardless of the problem of your soil, adding compost makes the soil better. Regardless of the problem of your soul, adding Scripture makes the soul better.
