Read the Bible in a Year
This morning read Song of Solomon 1--3

Bathsheba Crowned Solomon

David may have crowned Solomon as king, but the Song of Solomon says,

11	Go forth, O daughters of Zion,
And see King Solomon with the crown
With which his mother crowned him
On the day of his wedding,
The day of the gladness of his heart.
	(S. of S. 3:11).

David was probably dead at this time, so Bathsheba, at the wedding of her son, crowned Solomon as king. At first, it was sad to me that David was dead and did not see his son's wedding, but this must have been a glorious moment for Bathsheba. Parents generally cannot see every good thing that their children achieve, but we do our best with our children, then we turn them over to the world and hope for the best. What would David have thought, if he could have read what we call The Song of Solomon? It is a beautiful piece of literature. I hope you enjoy it.
