Some Will Hide From God's Glory 


God's glory is something that we dream about seeing. However, for those who worship something other than the God revealed in the pages of the Bible, seeing His glory will be a terrifying experience. 

10	Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust,
	From the terror of the LORD
	And the glory of His majesty. 
	(Isa. 2:10). 

In the previous verses, Isaiah spoke of the abundance that was in the land of Israel, and of the abundance of idols. Imagine worshiping a carved image that you truly believe is a god. Then in the Judgment, you see the true and living God. Imagine seeing His majestic glory and then realizing that you worshiped a rock before. Surely, you would want to hide from God's glory in fear, shame, and embarrassment. 

Is there anything on the earth that you worship besides the Lord? How can you know if you do? Is there something that you believe that if it were gone, your life would no longer be worth living? Is there something that in your mind controls your life other than God?
