Read the Bible in a Year This morning read Isaiah 11--13 Delighting in the Fear the Lord Does "delighting in the fear of the Lord, sound oxymoronic to you? If so, why does it sound that way? Delighting in the fear of the Lord is a biblical concept. Prophesying of the Christ, Isaiah wrote, 3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears... (Isa. 11:3). I am glad that the Christ would delight in the fear of the Lord, because it would lead Him not to judge by the sight of His eyes or by the hearing of His ears, but He would judge righteous judgment. That is precisely what Jesus of Nazareth did while on the earth and that is what He will do in the last final Judgment. If we delight in the fear of the Lord, we shall learn to judge in the same way that He does.
