Read the Bible in a Year This evening read Second John Look to Yourselves Have you lost money on an investment? I have. It was disappointing and frustrating. Have there been other things you have lost? When you put effort, time, and yourself into a person or a project, and you lose that person later, it is heartbreaking. There are many people in whom I have invested Christianity, only to have them walk away from it later. While it does not shake up my Christianity, it still breaks the heart. Do you know what John meant with the following words? Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. (2John 1:8, NKJV) If you know the meaning of John's words, do what he said in those first three words. If you do not know what he meant, you will in time when someone in the church becomes dear to your heart and then he falls away. In the same way that you want them to look to themselves, look to yourself that you may receive a full reward.
