There is a way to make a MacPlus w/ one floppy and no drive run really
well- if it has 4 Meg RAM of cheap RAM. Use one of the RAM disk utilities
that load the system (6.0.8 - so we can print to the network) onto a RAM
disk and then transfers the system control to that system and ejects. This
is a longer boot, but now there is about 1 Meg of RAM left, and an open
floppy drive to put a program and data disk. The system runs like fire
without constant disk access. I have two systems like this to do motion
timing in my lab. Works great.
