I ran across a julian date program I converted from Fortran to Perl that was written in 1980; and to this day there are Fortran programs in the same company still running since their creation, and probably will still run for the next. 'Course this company knew it would probably use the same programs in the year 2000 and beyond back when they wrote it, so there's really not a problem.(At least that's what they told me.) Too bad this particular Julian program's algorythm fails past the year 2024, but hey, they probably won't be using Perl at all in 2024... Hmm... :-) -- Terence Jordan (tatewake@...)
