What is the latest Mac OS that can be RELIABLY installed on a non-PPC powerbook such as the 540c? Sorry to burden the FB list with this, but you guys are such a irresistible wealth of information and ... (more superlatives)... I'm not looking for the ultimate, but rather the best combo of reliability and functionality. I'm about to take a 2 wk trip (mostly for fun, as unbelievable as that may seem). I have a old 540c, with epoxied monitor hinges (stronger than new, but not better looking!). (I'm about to buy a iBook, but I'm waiting for my severance package [BPA/Arco merger]) I'm taking the 540c with me on a trip to check email and the kids can play JumpStart, KidPix etc. The 540c currently has OS 7.5, which seems to have the slowest start-up time of all Mac OSs.
