Too much slow equipment. If I had anything like 
enough *time*, I would have been able to answer my own

Maybe.  Or maybe the program is like a juggler that 
occasionally cannot keep up.

You did not say:-  What is *supposed* to happen in the 
program when the program fails to complete the 
calculations "in time"?
--- Is it supposed to insert extra time enough to complete 
the calculations?
--- Or is it supposed to then allow interpenetration?

re-PS. Who has by now spotted what prevents Michael K's
FB_Billiards1.bas being backwards compatible with
FB2 as he originally claimed?
