re: SCSI throughput testing.

A non-FB SCSI solution might be the *ExpressPro-Tools* available for
download from ATTO. <http://www.attotech.com/>
It took a bit of digging through their web site but I was able to find
and use *ExpressPro-Tools 2.3.2*.
This is really to a set-up/SCSI mounter/etc. program specifically for
ATTO PCI-SCSI cards and associated disks but there is a SCSI bench
marking feature available under one of the menus which works with MacOS9
and 8.6 for sure and doesn't care who's interface card is being used.
The installation process seems a little strange and the extension it
provides is not needed if all you are doing is benchmarking. It appears
to understand RAID, although I have not had need for this.
The bench marker allows you to pick a volume and select different size
data chunks (32kB to 8MB) for test. It gives a graphical and numeric
read-out at the end.
