Not sure exactly what you mean, however, the wdRefNum% is only valid while
the file is open. As I understand things, when the file closes, the refNum%
becomes questionable.   When supplied with a file name and wdRefNum%, FB can
find the file, but wdRefNum% can't be saved, resolved and used later.  Every
file has a wdRefNum% assigned to it when it is opened.   (Jump in gang...I
am treading water here...)
