The Display Manager is pretty new so it shouldn't be outdated. It doesn't look like it is designed to control the screen parameters. If what you are trying to do is control screen color depth and resolution. you might want to look at DrawSprocket. It is mostly designed for gaming but it does allow a great deal of control over screen parameters. Of course it might not be available on all Macs and probably not that far back. It does look easy to use but I've never tried anything with it. Heather
