In Derek's defence (donning shining armour) (maybe Derek is a woman -
there's a lot of gender confusion on this list ;-)) I seem to recall him
saying not:

Sounds to me like a rerun of the old Floppy Drive debate. Sure Apple stopped
using floppies. Sure some people still wanted to use them. They could buy an
external drive and the other 99% of the human race could pay less for their
iMacs.
