i don't think the solution to pierre's problem is that simple.
(and if it is, then perhaps you'd like to share it with him.)

the bigger point, though, is that 
he got no support from apple support.

it seems easy enough to me to be sympathetic,
rather than just say "tough shit".  an attitude
that arrogant won't command much user loyalty.

every time apple skirts the issue with
the "third-party opportunity" excuse,
it loses a bit of its soul, in my opinion.

but still, you will notice that otto had the decency to 
acknowledge that it didn't help pierre in the short run.
that's all i'm looking for, is a bit of common courtesy.
