i've passed this X-FB in deference
to recent remarks whose preference
was for more meat and less ill
although i propose to lobby Bill
that discussing missing friends
[ie. we miss them and promise to make amends]
be covered by list chartery
[as long as it's not in poetry :-) ]

if i remember when consulting his site
[before i became a gnome] when i was quite
impressed by a portrait of him there
looking very much the worthy Unix hacker!

hence my proposition that this function
as a mark of guru-ship and mention
appreciation of both Rick's and alain's
accomplishments
