Here's my solution.

LOCAL FN changeSign(x!)
   SELECT CASE x!
       CASE < 0
          x! = x! * -1
       CASE > 0
          x! = x! * -1
       CASE = 0
          x! = x! * -1
   END SELECT
END FN x!

Or the short solution:

   x! = -x!
