-bowerbird observed: >but, speaking from a point of down-to-earth realism, >i barely have time to do what i wanna do with f.b. itself... > >so the objection is not religious, it's practical... > >you, however, should feel free to go over there >and let those stone people know that f.b. rocks! :+) When Ford first transmorphigated (hey, a new word) the homely Falcon into the macho Mustang and took a generation by storm, what was GM doing? Think it sat on the sidelines twiddling its thumbs? Hey, it already had the Corvette which was far superior to the pony car. Why worry? Are you kiddin'. Enter Camaro, Firebird... and muscle car ad infinitum. What I'm doing is objectively looking at other languages, acknowledging their strengths, and building on that knowledge. This isn't about dissing anyone or trying to prove superiority. It's simply building a well-rounded knowledge to improve the programming world in which we choose to live. f.b. does many things stupendously. In other areas it falls flat. Our goal should be to shore up the latter. Ken
