Thanks for your suggestion. I guess that I misstated my original 
question and this thread has gone off on a tangent. I really don't 
want to have a window that grows or shrinks depending upon anything.

I just want the size of a window that can be seen in its entirely on 
newer Mac's. I think that a window set at 600 x 450 can be. If not, 
then please advise.
