>So, I invite all you beginners, newbies, youngsters, inepts, and >others who have simply worked yourselves into a corner and could use >some help, to POST THOSE QUESTIONS without apology! This is >a friendly, helpful community, and we want to hear from you. >my ¢¢ > e-e > =J= a y > " I can agree with this. I need easy problems, otherwise I can't help at all. :) You people are too smart. But at the same time, I have found that eventually, one reaches a level where one ends up using that arcane stuff. :) Nice to have the depth available. I got FB 1.0.3 for only $49, best deal ever, with all those manuals and more several years ago. I didn't even know how to code, though I had done some in college, my last major success with a Timex-Sinclair. I started off in FB land writing a program called TweenMachine. I came up wth a really nice interface image for it, and then wrote the code to go behind it. Waverly E helped me with it kindly, and at that point in time, using MID$ seemed impossible to me. It was what I needed, but I didn't know it was what I needed until it was shown to me. So, if you are in a similar place, post at will, post in ignorance, post haste, and post mortum. Post Office if you want, fence post if you have to. Compost your results, but get it on out here. You ought to see the horrors and indignities I suffer on the beta list. :) I need a new place to feel like an idiot. A safe place. One populated with more idiots. Who don't care. :) (Jay's just mad because he's a word jockey and serial ports may as well be cereal parts.) :) rc Serial Filler
