It's seems that the rumors Heather came across are indeed proving
to be correct. According to Apple's Eric Schlegel, a man who claims to
be one of the people responsible for keeping the headers up to date,
because there are no more advancements being planned for Carbon, the
Universal Headers will likewise be kept as they are*.

In other words, I'm guessing that if we FB^3ers are going to be
able to access whatever cool technologies Apple adds to future updates
of the OS, Staz and Andy will have to pull yet another rabbit out of
the hat (something that they are extraordinarily good at doing).

     * this information is from the "carbon-development
digest, Vol 2 #1053" which was published earlier
today (Sunday, January 12th). by the way, thanks
for telling me about this list, Heather.
