This was the problem I had last night (overlapped extents), and it did 
take a long time to fix.  Running fsck would not fix it,

However, to be fair, I ran DiskWarrior first, then DiskOptimizer to 
defragment.  Then I repeated this, because the two utilities affect 
each other to a certain degree.

But DiskWarrior fixed me right up.   I love that program.
