[futurebasic] Picture with transparent white

How can I make the white pixels of a picture become transparent such that
the screen background color replaces any white pixels in the picture.
I have tried PENMODE(_patOr) and PENMODE(_transparent) before
DRAWPICTURE(PicHndle&,pictRect) with no success.
