Both are quite different techniques. Does it mean you want to use the 
classic event loop together with Carbon Event handlers?

May be this is possible but I have no idea how. Why don't you switch 
to Carbon Events? It's so much easier than the classic approach; 
actually it is nearly as easy as FB event handling!

chapter 17 of Bricknell's book.
