I have been writing a prototype program to demonstrate that I could write a
macintosh version (from scratch) for a Windows-Only Photo-Atlas and Reference
program. The windows version was built with a high-level authoring program,
but I'm convinced a built-from-scratch Mac program would be far superior.
Unfortunately, the people no longer appear interested in producing a mac
version.
My question is this... Does anybody know someone who might be commercially
interested in the code I have so far?
The slick part of the code is that it generates its own hypertext links,
wherever a defined word or topic occurs in the text it prints to a window.
Pictures, link buttons, and window refreshing are all handled automatically,
once a window is opened, a picture is put up, or a hyperlink is created.
Hyperlinks can refer to word definitions, pictures to be viewed, or to data
files on disk. Even better, it all works dynamically. No code changes are
required to add new words, pictures, or data files. If that didn't make any
sense, or doesn't sound very tricky, just trust me that it's a set of neat
tricks.
If anybody is interested in seeing the compiled demo code I have so far,
let me know and I'll post it somewhere.
