I'm foggy about your question (adding it to a long list of foggy things 
here):

With text in the "Res ID" field, unchecking "Graphic" in both the pane 
and the window leaves the text ungrayed.

Interestingly, there is an insertion point blinking away in T2 if there 
was one in T1, but no sign of a field or its contents. The field 
becomes evident only if further characters are typed
