Yes there is such a feature - under QuickTime settings -> AutoPlay
"Enable CD-ROM Autoplay"

This feature is what allowed the "Hong-Kong" virus to infect Macs a few years back.
Needsless to say - I turn it off.
I don't know if OS-X has this feature.  I have seen CDs with both
PC and Mac auto-launch on them.
