For the fb4/osx challenged person like myself how would you: 1) render the background as black? Put an nn pixel wide box around the image? 2) fade one image into a different image with a differing aspect ratio but identical longest dimension. Ie center both images in a common square? 3) instead of a button to render opaque to transparent and vice versa would it be possible to do this in even .01 increments over user-definable periods of time, say 2 seconds, or 0.5 of a second? 4) would it be possible to cross-fade from image a to image b where image a goes from opaque to transparent while simultaneously image b goes from transparent to opaque?
