Look again. "WIN " is what he's comparing to the beginning of 
lineStr--it's not an assignment. You can't see what lineStr is, so you 
don't know whether those chars exist or not. Presumably, they do. Once 
he gets his code right, he'll have a check to make sure they do.

I understand, but don't condone. Seems like Brian may have some kind of 
communication problem--I don't know-- but he's working hard and making 
steady progress toward his goal, whatever that is. He may be a 
precocious 10-year-old programming for the first time, or a 27-year-old 
with his own software company and an unconventional style, but I figure 
he's here asking for help, and that's what this list is for.
