First, I had help with this way back before the other method came along. I think the other method was chosen as more acceptable. I have meant to switch to the one shipped but every time a start, I notice that the routine uses a volRef to make a spec. I make specs as seldom as I have to because I have spent more time trying to make hings related to volRef work than any single Mac programming issue. Besides, my interest was to save locations my users had used and make those instantly available. I try to forget volRef ever existed and go directly to fileSpec when ever possible. The second thing was that I wanted to be able to turn this off and on. I used a string trigger, so if later I wanted to pass something along, I could. I am attaching my Subs Files.INCL. My changes are well marked with big yellow thingies. Just remember when you get a FB update, you have to make sure they have not changed something else in the INCL. The last change was in August.
