BBedit can be troublesome unless you change some of the default prefs: "Text Files: Opening" - Turn Off "Translate Line Breaks" "Text Files: Saving" - Turn Off "Force New Line at End" Then quit and relaunch BBEdit, open your files, and you will now see the differences in line endings.
