A very informative synopsis, and an interesting read. Thank you! BTW, I'm amazed at how Apple (and who gets more love and hate in the same envelope than Apple?) has managed to maintain compatibility with old apps: my Farmer Clock was compiled (carbonish) in OS9, bloomed with liquid buttons in X, and runs just fine on an Intel. When Intel Classic appears in 10.5, presumably an old 68k app will come to life, squeeze itself through a series of interpreters, and run faster than it did in the old days.
