Hi all

No *Apple* way. But a *Linux* way of running *68K* Classic
Mac apps (such as the irreplaceable MacDrawPro or the
FBII compiler) is appearing with Linux implementations
on Intel Macs starting with under OSX.4.
It is "BasiliskII 1.0-Pre" of
2006-01-21. The 68K emulation goes up to OS8.1 and
requires a suitable 68K Mac ROM (of which I have a few
stashed away). See:

Anyone have BasiliskII experience?
If linux proves to be the stablest OS, it will probably
be the best platform for emulators.
Like Ted, I piously hope that Apple will do various
flavors of Classic Mac OS8.6 & 9.x *PPC* emulation. If
not, maybe the Mac-on-Linux folks eventually will. See

where one reads (whoopie!):

But, honestly, it's looking to me increasingly as if
the easiest solution for experienced Mac users will be to
keep yesteryear hardware around to run yesteryear software
triumphs. Since a majority of users are content to remain
eternal novices, Apple may not care.
Cheers
