Further quiery: would it be worth recompiling the FB4 compiler via FBtoC for a similar reason. Or is it already written in C and/or PPC assembler? [[ A major strength of the compiler for FB-II (or FB-1.xx) over FB^3 (or FB4) -- at least for me --- was its high compilation speed.
