I fully agree but Apple even indicated quite directly that they might change again. I tried to explain this situation in my short essay concerning "Universal Binaries" (thanks to Alain for keeping it accessible): <http://euro.futurebasic.com/en/info_19.php> In short: Please remember that Apple changed to Intel because of a lack of adequate PPC CPUs for _laptops_! As you all know, "Universal Binaries" are called universal because they contain code for PPC and Intel CPUs and please note that Apple definitely depreciates to compile Intel-only applications! So why is this? There are two reasons: Firstly, Apple doesn't want to puzzle users who transfer software from an Intel to a PPC Mac and secondly Apple wishes to switch processors to its liking.
