SignPost was what you call a bridge program and that is what made is
so popular. It was designed around Adobe Illustrator. Any graphic you
could create in Illustrator as line art you could send to any vinyl
cutter using SignPost.

Anyone with Illustrator, SignPost and a cutter became a sign shop
overnight.

SignPost did not do what Illustrator did and Illustrator did not do
what SignPost did but the combination was awesome.

It was the missing link. Combined with thousands of fonts, which no
one else had as the time it was great.

I still have an old SE 30 with Illustrator 3.0 and SignPost and 1 meg
of ram that runs a cutter (Roland CAMM-1) that still works first time
every time. I don't make a living with it but it is still fun to play
with when someone needs a small vinyl sign.

It still amazes me what we used to do with 1 meg of ram and a 68030
running at 25mhz.

That's about it.
