Pete,

If I am not mistaken it was painted with some kind of silver/grey  
metallic paint and I think it was to reduce any RF interference with  
other devices.

Now top this.

I actually have a "Radius" board that can plug into my SE-30 that  
provides a plug in to run my 19" "Radius" black and white monitor. I  
had a color monitor also and still have the nu-bus board that drove it  
until the color monitor went belly up. Think of it. An SE-30 with a  
19" monitor. I also still have the nu-bus board that plugged into my  
original "Mac II ci" that drives the same monitor.

Not sure exactly why I never threw them away.

Ken, thanks for the battery information too. I also knew about the  
originals design team signatures with some of the famous guys like  
"Andy Hertzfeld" who was one of the original fathers of the Mac Toolbox.

I would have to look but I think I still have one of the original  
"Phone Book" versions of "Inside Macintosh" from 1986.
