I found an old reference from Ken Shmidheiser that said the same thing.
Jay had the same question back in 2007.  I've only been using nibs for
the last month and found them to be a great benefit.  It would be nice
but Bernie created some utilities that seriously reduce the learning
curve.

AFAIK, there is no way to create a toolbar in a carbon nib. I would  
love to be proven wrong in this.
