Basic dialects that are either OOP or procedural are certainly not

Christopher we had this discussion a while back already. You are
right but most Mac-BASICs are not to compare with FB. The problem we
are discussing since long and now again is the interface with Apple's
API and as the thread topic suggests, this interface will definitely
break some time in the future.

Interfacing a procedural language, such as BASIC, with Cocoa is at
least extremely difficult and at present the discussion shows that
nobody on this list sees such an enterprise as being worthwhile.

Interfacing with an OOP-BASIC of course is much easier but an
OOP-BASIC will show only marginal resemblance with FB.

In short, BASICs that don't provide a general interface with Apple's
Cocoa-API will of course continue to exist. FB however provided this
access and most of us need it urgently!
