Yes, if there is a C API, FB5 can take advantage of it

There is a demo of SOAP via the WebServices API at Examples/Network/WS SOAP demo. I don’t remember a posting indicating anyone was deeply into Web Services ( some doing more on the server side elected to use PHP ). Maybe start with the Apple docs such as Web Services Core Framework Reference or Web Services Core Programming Guide. The Web Services Core Framework is accessible from procedural C or Cocoa according to the latter. These docs( and many others ) may be found by typing “webservices” into the Xcode’s Developer Documentation search box.

There is an ODBCAdaptor Framework that allows programmatic connection to and ODBC ( Open Data Base Connectivity ). There are other ODBC frameworks too ( ODBCContext ). Again, try XCode doc search for “ODBC”. There are also some lower level unix calls that might be interesting. ODBC is a Microsoft developed standard call level interface to relational databases ( such as SQL ). Personally, ODBC would not be my first choice for a Mac app. Maybe if you’re writing cross-platform for Windows or doing middleware that talks to different OSs ( like Windows, Linux, OS X )

To answer the question, I’m not aware of any lister who has done any in-depth ( or any ) ODBC work. I’m sure it’s possible.
