This is VERY discouraging news if this is true.

Reminds me of accepting American Express credit cards. We have known businesses to use our software, travel to trade shows during the summer, use it for months and then charge back thru American Express for full refund, including hardware, shipping, etc, only to not return the hardware and continue using it and the software all while AE took our money.

Bottom line for this kind of policy is to make sure your software is top notch.

Brian S. or Rich Love, can you guys comment?

The iOS policy is that a customer can return an app and get a full refund up to 90 days. Apple refunds the customer's money and then charges the developer 30%. So, if you have an app selling for $1, and someone returns it, you don't get 70 cents, instead you owe Apple 30 cents.

Also, 90 days is a long time. You cannot go into a store and return something more than 30 days later. You surely cannot go to a store and expect to get a refund on anything software related.
