Hi Gang and STAZ: Have I got a problem for you guys. Here it is: I have two computers (A and B) that are set up exactly the same for code development (i.e., same system, same software). On both systems my code ran fine, no problems. Then while working with some resources, everything went haywire on computer A. Now I get the following error when I try to compile my code: Compile error: ________________________________________________ Invalid syntax found in this line. Could be a typing error, check the manual for the correct syntax Line #330 in Runtime.INCL ________________________________________________ | LONG IF USR * ABS(gOgjRef) = USR ABS(theRef) | |________________________________________________| -- Where the above "*" is one of those diamond thingies -- Now, the syntax in question is correct. After all, if you've noticed it's found in the STAZ's runtime and we all know that the runtime include is certainly correct. However, the compiler won't get past the above point. It fails on any use of the USR function. Now, I've tried several things, such as: 1. Replaced both FutureBASIC and PG Pro on computer A (from computer B); 2. Reinstalled both FB and PG Pro from original disks and downloaded new upgrades and upgraded; 3. Replace both the System and Finder on computer A (from computer B). 4. Have used TechTool Pro 2 and found no problems with the finder or system. 5. Went back to older copies of the program (which compiled back then) and now have the same problem as described above. 6. Rebuilt the desktop, trashed the pi file and the FB prefs file. Nothing works!!! I can still take my code from computer A and it compiles fine on computer B. But I can not get my code to compile on computer A. My next step is to completely re-install computer A's system. I really don't want to do that if I don't have too. Any one got any ideas? tedd (one stressed puppy) PS: This is a message that I sent just as the list went down. However, I never received the message back and as such I don't think that it was received by the FB list. As such, I'm sending it again. If the list receives more than one copy of this note, then I apologize in advance. ___________________________________________________________________ <mailto:tedd@...> http://sperling.com/
