Thank you to everyone who responded to this question. Because of everyone's
help, I now have a function that will convert any resRefNum% to a volRefNum%
and a fileName$.

This is a MAJOR breakthrough for an application I am writing. Now I can simply
pass an opened resource ref. num to the function and I get back the file name
and volNum%.
