Group Information

~ Pastors Forum is a discussion group established for pastors and other ministers involved in different types of Christian ministry. The purpose is to provide a forum where members can engage in discussion of issues related to the Bible and Christian ministry.

~ PastorsForum is a venue where doctrinal issues can be discussed, questions and answers about the Bible can be shared, principles and philosophies of ministry can be talked over, solutions to church problems can be communicated, and ideas and techniques of ministry can be expressed.

~ Doctrinal issues, theology, Biblical studies, social issues, current events as the relate to the Bible, matters related to church and ministry, missions, end times prophecy, evangelism, spiritual gifts, preaching, Bible translations, music and worship issues, prayer requests, encouraging words, etc., are all welcome topics for discussion.

~ Pastor Jerry Lewis is the moderator and owner of Pastors Forum discussion list. The list is lightly moderated. Members are encouraged to help keep each other operating in a spirit of love and grace toward all participants.

~ Membership is restricted to pastors, retired pastors, interim and supply pastors, bi-vocational pastors, assistant or associate pastors, ministerial students, worship leaders, missionaries, church planters, and all who are involved in ministry for the Lord Jesus Christ.

~ The Scriptures say in Eph 4:15, “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ …” and in Eph 4:29-32 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. … 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”

~ By accepting membership on this list, all participants agree to follow the Biblical injunction of Eph. 4:15 and Eph. 4:29-32 to govern all postings on this list.

~ By accepting membership on this list, all members consent that all discussion will be presented in a loving, positive, and constructive manner. All members agree to refrain from personal attacks or name-calling.

~By accepting membership on this list, all members understand that not everyone will agree with their personal and doctrinal views, and will endeavor to be gracious and kind toward those who disagree with them.

~ This discussion group is composed of people from various denominations and independent groups. Many different religious traditions and faith groups are represented. There are many different viewpoints held by various participants. Many God-loving and Christ –serving individuals on this list view and interpret theological and ministry issues in different ways. Just because one may use a different translation or hold to a particular doctrinal position does not mean he is any less a committed Christian than another who uses a different translation or holds to a divergent doctrinal position.

~ Through this forum, it is our expectation that we will all move forward in ministry effectiveness and grow in our faith walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

~ Members are encouraged to post their own thoughts regarding the various issues under consideration and to refrain from posting lengthy quotes from articles and documents published on the internet. We want to hear your thoughts on a subject and not the words of your favorite teacher or mentor. Short quotations are acceptable, along with proper documentation and the web address where list members can locate the entire material sourced in the quote. It is not appropriate to post the material taken from others and present it as your own. From time to time list members may request that a particular sermon or article be posted for the purpose of group discussion.

~The posting of an occasional message, story, or illustration will be tolerated. Those wishing to post sermons, though, are encouraged to do so on the Pastor Mail list located at http://freegroups.net/groups/pastormail/ Pastor Mail is devoted to the sharing of sermons, illustrations, and prayer requests.

~ Disclaimer: This discussion list is not sponsored by any church, denomination, or religious group. The views expressed by any member of this forum, including the moderator, may not reflect the views or doctrinal issues of the moderator or of all members.
