When I first got to this church almost 3 years ago I asked about reading 
the by-laws and got a chorus of blank stares.  We have no by-laws to 
speak of we just go by the very thin general guidelines in our 
denominational constitution.  One elder said by-laws would be too 
restrictive.  I would be curious to know exactly what is in your 
by-laws.  I haven't brought up the subject since 3 years ago but I may 
again in the future.  In some ways we still function in the stone age.
