Howard, Our church forbids members to join secret oath bound societies such as the Masons. Though I know of one church in our denomination where an elder (of all people) was found to be a member and has refused to renounce membership. From what I heard recently the presbytery is pursuing judicial (i.e. within the church) action. Obviously in all situations you want to follow Matthew 18 regardless of the nature of the offense. Part of the personal confrontation would be to point out, biblically, why membership in these groups is wrong. Will be praying for you about this. Peace, Steve Sermonator wrote: > OK!
