Of course there was not an actually evening and morning because there was no
Sun to rise and set. The description was an idiomatic description of a time
period. It does not matter that the translators of the KJV used the
description and you choose to translate it literally! The light that God
created on the first day was not the light provided by the Sun!

Doc,
Do I understand you here then to say that on days 1-3 there was no evening
and morning?

No, but then I am not a Jew. Are you? Moses was a Jew and used the Hebraic
method of reckoning time, period! Moses had no concept of how we reckon
time in the 21st century or even in the 17th century!

There was no rising or setting of the sun during the first 3 days of
creation!
