Mike, John is speaking a profound truth that many of us don't have the
courage to believe.  Simply put the covenant that leads to being born
again is made not with our blood but his.  The work is complete and
unbreakable.  The law brings the knowledge of sin. (The Old Covenant)
The New Covenant is based on love; there is no curse in love.  If Jesus
did not secure our salvation we can't.  Think security through his work
not ours.
