Derick,
I agree with you that salvation has always been by faith through grace
and that the OT saints were saved in the same manner as we are today.
Yet, where do you see Scriptural evidence of Adam's faith?
Eve, I believe, expressed faith in God's promise in Gen 3:15 when she
said at the birth of Cain "I have gotten a man with the help of the
LORD." (Gen 4:1) Of course she was woefully incorrect that Cain was
God's promised redeemer, yet she expressed faith that God would send a
redeemer through her offspring. I think this faith is also why Eve is
mentioned in 2 Ti
2:13-15.
However, I see no evidence that Adam ever repented of his rebellion
and so I am not at all sure that he is with the Lord now. In the NT,
Adam is held up as the role model for sin and rebellion (Rom , 1 Cor
15) and nowhere (that I know of) is it mentioned that he repented.
