David W said,
Again Jerry, you read into what was said.
If I do, ...and that is debatable, ... then I must be taking lessons from a
real expert on "reading between the lines, ... Mr David W.
Hey David, ... again I ask the question, ... the one that has never yet been
properly answered in this thread, ... How do you discern what is worldly
behavior? Where do you draw the lines on worldliness regarding those things
that the Bible does not speak about? What are the guidelines? Just to say
"the Bible is the standard" is a "cop out," ... because the Bible does not
address many things that religious people claim is "worldly."
Is it worldly to go fishing on Sunday afternoon? Is it wrong for the men's
brotherhood to go deep sea fishing for a weekend, returning Sunday night?
Is it wrong to have a slumber party at church, with kids sleeping in
sleeping bags in the sanctuary? Is it wrong for teenagers to go to the
beach or a pool party together? Is it wrong for high school students to
attend the school prom?
The Amish people would accuse all Baptists of being worldly .... anyone who
uses electrical machinery..... Are they right????
Just to say that "cutting the grass on Sunday afternoon," and other
generalizations similar to that, is "worldliness" doesn't cut it.
Traditional attitudes of a pious sort towards practices and actions among
people ... that are not based on the Bible CANNOT be accurately categorized
as being worldly.
"Here's looking at you, ... kid!!!" :-) Do you know who that quote came
from???? I wonder if anyone ever prayed for his salvation and witnessed to
him....
Jerry
