While Jesus died for ALL, the scripture says By grace ye are saved through FAITH. No faith, no saved. Subject: Re: [PastorsForum] That word ALL again >Just because you say Jesus giving His life a > ransom for all would imply universalism does not make it so. Just because you say it isn't so does not mean it isn't so. If Jesus paid a ransom for all but not everyone receives the benefit of this ransom then He didn't really pay anything for them at all, did He? Show me an example of "ransom" being used for a price that is paid but not received. You accuse Calvinist of redefining "all" but you redefine "ransom." I showed how Paul used "all" just 5 verses earlier to mean something other than "every man, woman, and child who ever lived." It a valid, biblical, exegesis to interpret "all" in verse 6 as meaning "every type of man" since that is how Paul used it in verse 1. The impetus is on you to prove why "all" means something different in verse six than how Paul used it in verse one. And you must show how a ransom that is not received is still a ransom. -- Grace and peace, Kevin Sigafoos --------------------- For from him and through him and to him are all things.
